Look, the Red Sox play in Boston, which is Eastern Time. If you’re in New York, great—you’re on the same clock. But if you’re in Denver? Or Seattle? You’re doing subtraction in your head while the first pitch sails by.
I once missed seven innings because I assumed “7:10 PM” meant my local time. Spoiler: it didn’t. So always convert that Eastern start time to your zone. It’s the difference between catching the game and catching a highlight reel.
Weekday Games vs. Weekend Chaos
Here’s the secret: weekday games usually start at 7:10 PM Eastern. That’s the default. But weekends? They’re wild cards. You might get a 1:35 PM start, a 4:10 PM slot, or even a 6:05 PM “special” because someone decided to test your patience.
And don’t get me started on Sunday Night Baseball. That’s a whole other beast—ESPN picks the time, and it’s always later than you think. Just check the schedule twice, okay? I learned that the hard way.
