First, go on a manhunt. Check every damp spot: under the sink, around the faucet, behind the blender. Wipe everything down with vinegar. They hate vinegar.
Next, the classic trap: a small bowl of apple cider vinegar with a drop of dish soap. Cover it with plastic wrap and poke a few holes. They fly in, they get stuck, they die. It’s a tiny, satisfying murder house.

Repeat that trap in every room they’re hanging out. Two or three bowls. Make them feel like it’s a trap house for flies. They’ll be gone in a day or two.
The Nuclear Option
If they’re still laughing at you, it’s time to bleach the drain. Pour half a cup of bleach down the sink. Let it sit for ten minutes. Then flush with boiling water. That kills any eggs hiding in the pipe.
Also, take out the trash every single night. No exceptions. Even if it’s just one banana peel. Do it. You’ll feel like a trash-sheriff, but it works.
And for crying out loud, toss that sponge in the dishwasher or microwave it for a minute. A new sponge every week is cheaper than a fly infestation. Trust me.
