RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-joon, was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. He was a pretty smart kid, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passions, which included hip-hop music and language. But, what made him want to become a K-pop idol, and how did he eventually join BTS?
Apparently, RM was inspired by Epik High, a Korean hip-hop group, and he started writing his own raps and lyrics. He even released some of his own music online, which is pretty cool. But, he knew that if he wanted to make it big, he needed to join a major label, which is where Big Hit Entertainment comes in.
