In South Korea, military service is mandatory for all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 35. It's a way to show patriotism and serve the country, even if you're a world-renowned Kpop sensation! This means that idols have to put their careers on hold, but don't worry, they'll be back to slay the stage in no time.
But here's the thing: some idols are volunteering to enlist early, like BTOB's Hyunsik, who's joining the military in 2026 to get it out of the way before his 30s. Talk about dedication! It just goes to show how committed these idols are to their country and their fans.
And then there are the idols who are delaying their enlistment, like SEVENTEEN's Mingyu, who's pushing it back to focus on his music and performances. We don't blame him - who wouldn't want to enjoy the fame and fortune a little while longer? But eventually, they'll all have to take the plunge and trade in their mic for a rifle.
