Check the timing. Main cards usually start at 10 PM ET, but prelims begin as early as 6 PM. Decide if you’re in it for the whole journey or just the headliner.
Bring a friend who knows the sport. Having someone explain the nuances of a submission attempt or a takedown defense makes the whole thing richer. If you’re going solo, sit near a group of fans who look knowledgeable—eavesdrop shamelessly.

If your local bar is packed or your internet goes down, have a backup. Download the UFC app on your phone, which often streams audio-only commentary. You can at least listen while you scramble for a Plan B at a friend’s house.
