University of Southern Florida is located in Tampa. Full stop. It’s a big, sprawling, slightly sweaty campus in a city that is equal parts urban grit and beach-town chill. You’ll find it north of downtown Tampa, about 20 minutes from the airport, and about 15 minutes from the nearest Publix (which is basically a Florida landmark).
So next time someone asks you where USF is, save them the confusion: slap a map of Tampa on their forehead and say, “Right here, dummy.” But in a friendly way. It’s a great school, honestly—just don’t trust its name. And if you’re ever in Tampa, look for the giant bulls statue on campus. You can’t miss it. Unless you’re looking for the beach, in which case, you’re in the wrong part of the state. Again.
