You might grab a carton of oat cream or coconut cream from the store. Those are imitations made from plants. They are not “cream” in the traditional sense.
Coconut cream comes from the flesh of a coconut, pressed and strained. Oat cream is made by soaking oats and blending them with oil. They are delicious alternatives, but they don’t come from a living animal.
Real cream has a unique texture and taste that’s hard to copy. It’s a natural byproduct of a mammal feeding its baby. That’s a pretty amazing biological process.
