First things first—no, Prime Video hasn’t dropped a teaser, a poster, or even a grumpy tweet about Season 5. As of this moment, the show hasn’t even been formally renewed, which is scary, I know. But don’t panic! The creator, Robert Kirkman, has basically confirmed there’s a story arc planned through Season 7 or 8, so cancellation is unlikely.
Think of it like this: the animation team is probably still nursing their coffee stubs from Season 4’s final battle scenes. These episodes take ages to animate—like, 18 to 24 months per season—because they’re drawn with ridiculous detail. That’s why Season 3 dropped in February 2026, and Season 4 in early 2026? (You see the pattern, right?)
So, based on the gap between Season 2 (late 2026) and Season 3 (early 2026), and then to Season 4 (expected early 2026 if rumors hold), a realistic window is late 2027 or early 2028. Yes, you read that right—years. But hey, at least you can rewatch the entire series 47 times by then!
