There’s a magical little site called ESPN.com or CBS Sports that updates schedules in real-time. Or you could just type “Lions schedule 2026” into Google and it’ll show you a neat little calendar. But here’s the trick: look for the “All Times Eastern” footnote—because if you ignore that, you’ll be celebrating a touchdown while everyone else is already in the third quarter.
Also, check if the game is local or national broadcast. National games (like Sunday Night Football) have fixed times, but local games can get moved or flexed. The league loves to flex games—and not in a workout way. In a “surprise! Your 1:00 PM game is now at 4:25 PM” kind of way. Thanks, Roger Goodell.
What About Preseason and Playoffs?
Oh, you thought regular season was confusing? Preseason is a wild card—games can start at 7:00 PM, 6:00 PM, or even 8:00 PM, depending on who’s hosting. And playoffs? Those times are announced like a week before, often with a Saturday or Sunday slot that changes last-minute. It’s like the NFL is playing hard to get.
Lion Game Time: Dont Miss the Roar
Here’s a pro tip: set a reminder on your phone the day before the game. Not the morning of—because you’ll forget. Use the official NFL app’s alert feature. I promise, your future self (the one who isn’t frantically refreshing) will thank you.
