Planning a tribute viewing? Here’s how to maximize the emotional impact. First, watch Episodes 6 and 7 back-to-back first; they build Billy’s arc with that haunting “Material Girl” pool scene and his possession. Second, dim the lights and turn up the surround sound—Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein’s synth score crescendos perfectly. Third, keep a box of tissues and maybe a cat on your lap.
And here’s a pro tip: skip the final credits for a few minutes after Billy’s death. The show cuts to a celebratory moment between the kids, and it can feel jarring. Let the silence sink in first. It’s like processing a breakup—you need space.
