Most people hover between a 4.70 and a 4.90. A perfect 5.00 is basically the unicorn of ride-sharing—usually only possible if you’ve taken fewer than ten rides. It’s the celebrity status of the pavement.
A rating below 4.60 might mean you’ve been a little too chatty, or not chatty enough. Or maybe you shut the door a little too hard. Drivers have long memories, and they talk. Fun fact: Uber says drivers can see your rating before they accept a ride, so that number is your first impression.

How to Check Your Rating Like a Pro
Don’t just look at the number—tap on it. Some versions of the app show a trendline or a small graph of how your rating has changed over time. Is it a gentle slope upwards? Good. A sudden dip? Ask yourself what happened two weeks ago.
Also, check the “Account” tab in the menu for a more detailed breakdown. On some phones, you can even see the number of drivers who rated you. If it’s only been 30 rides, your rating is more volatile than someone with 300 rides—every trip matters.
