Coventry is the city that got bombed in WWII and apparently never recovered—spiritually or architecturally. The ring road is a nightmare that makes you question your life choices. Also, the city centre has a concrete beast called the “Tribunal” that looks like a giant typewriter.
It’s not all bad—the cathedral is lovely—but, uh, bring a GPS and a strong stomach.
