First up, our favorite autistic savant, Dr. Shaun Murphy. Freddie Highmore is back, and he’s still seeing the world in a way that makes you go, “Wait, why didn’t I think of that?” He’s navigating new relationships and, spoiler alert, he’s not great at small talk. But hey, that’s why we love him.
Then there’s Dr. Claire Browne, played by the fantastic Antonia Thomas. She’s the emotional backbone of the show, and in Season 4, she’s dealing with some heavy stuff. I’m talking major life changes that might make you reach for the tissues. Don’t worry; I’ll have a box ready for you.
And let’s not forget Dr. Marcus Andrews, played by Hill Harper. He’s the hospital president who’s all business, but he has a soft spot for chaos. In Season 4, he’s juggling hospital politics and a new personal journey. Think of him as the dad who’s trying to keep the kids from burning down the house.
The Old Favorites (Because Change is Hard)
Dr. Jackson Han? Gone, but not forgotten. Season 4 brings back the beloved Dr. Neil Melendez, played by Nicholas Gonzalez. Yes, he’s still that guy who can make a surgical mask look cool. Warning: His storyline might leave you screaming at your TV, but it’s worth it.
Then there’s Dr. Audrey Lim, played by the wonderful Christina Chang. She’s the trauma surgeon with a no-nonsense attitude and a heart of gold. In Season 4, she’s grappling with the aftermath of a life-changing choice. She’s like that friend who always has your back, even when you’re being a hot mess.
Dr. Alex Park, played by Will Yun Lee, is back with his dry humor and terrible jokes. He’s the show’s funny guy, which is essential when the surgery scenes get too intense. Honestly, he’s the one character who makes you think, “Okay, maybe I could handle being a doctor.” Spoiler: You can’t.
