Eat too much zucchini, and you might turn a little yellow-orange. Seriously. It’s called carotenemia. Zucchini has beta-carotene (like carrots). Your body stores the excess in your skin. You become a gentle, squash-tinted glow worm.
It’s harmless. It fades when you ease up. But imagine explaining to your boss why you look like a pumpkin spice latte. “I was just really into zucchini, okay?”
This side effect is most common if you also eat lots of carrots, sweet potatoes, or squash. Build a rainbow diet, and your skin might literally become a rainbow. Good luck at the beach.
