Braun's rise to fame started with a low-key gig promoting parties in college, which eventually led to him becoming the manager of Asher Roth, a then-up-and-coming rapper. His strategic mindset and natural ability to spot talent quickly made him a sought-after figure in the industry. Before long, he was rubbing shoulders with the likes of Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift.
So, what's the secret to Braun's success? For starters, he's always on the pulse of what's happening in the music world, with a keen eye for talent and a deep understanding of the industry. He's also not afraid to take calculated risks, which has led to some of the most iconic deals in music history. Take, for example, his purchase of Scott Borchetta's Big Machine Label Group, which gave him control over Taylor Swift's master recordings.
A Lesson in Building Relationships
One of the key factors in Braun's success is his ability to build strong relationships with his clients. He's known for being hands-on and invested in their careers, often going above and beyond to help them achieve their goals. This personal touch has earned him a reputation as one of the most trusted and respected managers in the industry. So, what can we learn from this? Networking and building genuine relationships are key to success in any field.
In today's digital age, it's easier than ever to get connected with people in your industry. Attend conferences and events, join online communities, and don't be afraid to reach out to people you admire. You never know who might become a valuable contact or mentor in the future. And remember, building relationships is a two-way street - be sure to give as much as you take.
