So, what's this Complexity and Contradiction business all about? In a nutshell, Venturi argues that great architecture should be complex, contradictory, and even a little bit messy. He loves buildings that are a mix of old and new, high and low, and serious and playful – and we're totally on board with that!
Venturi's all about embracing the unexpected and celebrating the imperfect, and his book is full of witty one-liners and clever observations that'll keep you laughing and nodding your head in agreement. It's like having a conversation with your funny and clever friend who just happens to be an architecture genius!
