Held in fields on the city’s edge, a car boot sale is where families dump everything their attic has hated for thirty years. I once found a VHS tape of “Titanic” (the 1997 one) next to a taxidermy squirrel holding a nut. The squirrel was £5. The tape was free with purchase. I almost wept.
