Look, JFK to Mumbai on Air India is not a luxury flight. It’s a personality test. Can you handle a screaming baby in Row 27 while the pilot announces a 45-minute delay over a bad sandwich? Yes, because the alternative—a cold, sterile American airline—offers you nothing but silence and a granola bar.
You’ll land in Mumbai feeling like you’ve lived a lifetime. Your eyes are heavy, your neck hurts, but you’ve eaten three meals, watched a donkey musical, and been called “sir” or “madam” with such warmth that you almost want to hug the pilot. Almost. Book the ticket. Bring a neck pillow and an open mind. The Maharaja awaits.
Oh, and one last tip: pack your own headphones. Trust me. The tin-can sound does not improve after hour eight.
