Sundays are a whole different beast. You might think you can sleep in and still get fuel. Nope. Many Morrisons petrol stations don’t open until 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM on the Lord’s day. I once sat in my car at 8:45 AM, staring at a locked pump like a zombie. It was tragic.
Why do they do this? No idea. Maybe the petrol pumps need a lie-in too. Or maybe they’re just messing with our heads. Either way, Sunday is a minefield for desperate drivers.
Bank Holidays: The Wild Card
Oh, you thought bank holidays were your friend? Think again. Morrisons petrol stations often switch to Sunday hours on bank holidays. That means 9:00 AM or even later. I’ve seen one open at 11:00 AM on a random Monday in May. Eleven! That’s basically lunchtime for a petrol station.
If you’re planning a bank holiday road trip, you’re playing a game of chance. My advice? Fill up the night before. Or just cry into your steering wheel. Your call.
