Let me be your hype-man for a second. Imagine waking up tomorrow and seeing a blue post from Blizzard: “Wow Forever—the 11th expansion! Play Wrath of the Lich King again but with a new hat!” That would be hilarious. But it’s also not happening. Not in a million years. Not even if you sacrifice a Gnome to the RNG gods.
Expansions are big, shiny, official boxes with new continents, new classes, and new systems like “Mythic Plus Gardening” or “Dragonriding Taxi Services.” Wow Forever is the opposite: it’s a preservation project. It’s the equivalent of your grandma saying, “Why buy a new house? This one has all my memories!” And she’s right—in her cozy, nostalgic way.
Think of it this way: an expansion is change. Wow Forever is stasis. One is a rocket ship, the other is a comfortable armchair. You don’t confuse the two unless you’ve had one too many Hearthstone nightcaps.
