Florida sits on top of a giant sponge. That’s the Floridan Aquifer, one of the largest underground freshwater systems on Earth. It holds more water than all the Great Lakes combined. Seriously.
This aquifer is why your tap water tastes… well, a little weird. It’s not swamp water. It’s ancient rainwater filtered through limestone for thousands of years. Think of it as a very, very slow French press.
The limestone gives the water a high mineral content. That’s the “hard water” you might notice. Your soap doesn’t lather as much. Your hair might feel a bit crunchy. It’s not harmful, just a little sassy.
