Never toss a naked blade in the trash. It will slice a garbage bag, cut a raccoon, or haunt a sanitation worker. That’s rude.
Wrap it in three layers of duct tape. Make a blade mummy. Or use a dedicated blade disposal container—an old soda can works perfectly. Drop the blade in, tape the opening shut, and label it “Sharp Things Inside.”
Some cities have sharps drop-off programs. Pharmacies too. It’s like recycling, but with more menace.
The Joy of the Click
There is a meditative quality to this task. You unscrew. You slide. You click. It’s mechanical, primal, and oddly satisfying. You are the master of tiny steel.
Next time you pop out a blade, imagine you’re a Victorian butler changing the shaving gear. Or a cyborg swapping out a microchip. Own the weirdness.
