If you’re planning to use your cobs within a few days, the fridge is your friend. But don’t just chuck them in a bag and forget them—that’s a recipe for sad, moldy cobs. Instead, give them a quick rinse to remove any leftover silk, then pat them completely dry.
Pop them into a breathable container, like a paper bag or a loosely closed plastic bag with a few holes poked in it. Why the holes? They need airflow, just like you do after a long run, or they’ll get swampy and gross.
Stored this way, your cobs will stay fresh for about three to five days. That’s plenty of time to plan a second corn-themed feast or to get inspired for a DIY project.
