Decide how far down you want the “head” of the tassel. Two inches? One inch? Pick a spot.
Take another 12-inch piece of yarn. Wrap it tightly around all the strands at that spot. Tie a knot, then wrap the ends around the neck a few times. Hide the loose ends inside the tassel by poking them into the middle.
