If you live nearby, you can walk. The Thames Path goes right past the arena. It’s a lovely stroll along the river, past salt marshes and old docks. You might see a seal. Yes, real seals live in the Thames now. They pop their heads up like nosy neighbours.
Walking takes about 40 minutes from Canary Wharf. Bring good shoes. Don’t try it in heels unless you want to look like a flamingo on ice.
Best part? No queues. No tickets. No cable car wobbles. Just you, the river, and the giant white boob in the distance. (Yes, that’s what locals call the O2. Don’t judge.)
