Because a clean dashboard is a happy dashboard, my friend. Archiving removes the class from your main view, so you don’t have to scroll past twenty old assignments to find the one you actually need. Think of it as Marie Kondo for your schoolwork—it sparks joy by sparking less clutter.
Plus, archiving is safe. Your grades, comments, and those memes you posted in the Stream are all preserved. You won't lose a thing—it just goes into a special hiding spot, like a squirrel with a very organized nut collection.
Step 1: Open Google Classroom
Go ahead and log in. You’ll see your dashboard with all those class cards staring at you like needy puppies. Find the one you want to banish. Don’t feel guilty—it’s okay. You can’t keep every class forever. Some are just meant to be a good memory, like a summer camp friendship.
On that class card, click the three little dots in the top-right corner. They’re tiny, but mighty. A menu will pop up—think of it as the class’s little “exit interview.”
Step 2: Click “Archive”
From that menu, select “Archive.” Yes, it’s that simple. Google will then ask you if you’re sure—like a friend double-checking if you really want to delete that embarrassing photo from 2017. Click that “Archive” button again. Boom. The class disappears from your view like it was never there.
You might feel a twinge of power. You just took control of your digital life. Now go celebrate by refreshing your page and admiring the clean, empty space. You earned it.
