We have London, Nigeria (a small settlement near the capital). There’s London, Fiji. There’s even a London, Sweden, though the locals pronounce it “Lund.” Sneaky. And don’t forget London, Jamaica, which is mostly a beautiful beach. I bet that London has much better weather than the original.
What about the fake Londons? In China, there’s a suburb of Shanghai called “London Town,” a copycat village with British-style red phone boxes and fake Tudor houses. It’s like a theme park that forgot the rides. You can walk down “Oxford Street” and buy Chinese dumplings. It’s a glorious, confusing mess.

The Littlest London: Population 9
The award for smallest goes to London, Illinois, which has a population of nine. That’s not a town; that’s a large family that really, really likes tea and bad weather. If you blink while driving through it, you’ve missed both the London and your turn.
But let’s not forget the ghost Londons. There are old settlements in Australia and South Africa that were once called “New London” or “Little London” but died out. They’re just a few rusty signs and a bunch of kangaroos now.
