Open-top buses aren’t built for comfort. Imagine sitting on a double-decker roof in the London drizzle, waving at thousands of people while your arm goes numb—that’s the player experience. They want to get the job done, flash the cup, and get to the after-party faster than you can say “Aubameyang.”
The parade route itself is a tidy little loop. It typically starts at the Emirates Stadium, crawls through the streets of Islington, and then winds back to the stadium for a stage show. Think of it like a victory lap in a shopping centre—everyone cheers, you wave, and then you’re back inside for more champagne.
For comparison, a 90-minute parade is shorter than your average commute to work. If you’ve ever sat in traffic on the M25, you’ve already waited longer for a bag of crisps. So when fans complain, “Is that it?” just remind them: at least nobody is cutting you off in a BMW.
The Real Timeline: From Start to “Where Did They Go?”
Let’s put a clock on it. The players usually climb onto the bus around 11:00 AM on a Sunday, because nothing says “celebration” like waking up early for a bus ride. The bus moves at the pace of a tortoise with a hangover—seriously, it crawls through the crowds at about 5 mph.

By 12:30 PM, the bus has rolled back into the stadium car park. Then comes the stage show, which lasts another 45 minutes, with interviews, music, and players pretending they’re not freezing. So if you count the whole event—bus ride plus stage banter—you’re looking at about two hours total.
That’s the same amount of time it takes to watch a disappointing rom-com. But instead of a predictable plot twist, you get a million scarves waving and one bloke shouting, “OI, MIKEL, SORT OUT THE DEFENCE!”
