What to Do Once You Get There
Abilene has the Frontier Texas! museum, which sounds like an exclamation mark is mandatory. It’s fun, I promise. You’ll learn about buffalo soldiers, cattle drives, and why everyone in the 1800s smelled like leather and desperation.
There’s also the Grace Museum, a stunning art deco building that houses everything from modern art to a massive train set. If you’re a grown adult, you’re legally allowed to play with the train set. I checked with my lawyer.
