So, how does Rick die on The Walking Dead? He doesn’t—at least not on the show. He gets a miraculous rescue via helicopter and lives to fight another day. In the comics, a kid shoots him in the chest. Total bummer.
If you want to see his “final” moment on TV, watch Season 9’s bridge scene. It’s a beautiful, tear-jerking fake-out. But if you ask me, the real death is the emotional one: Rick Grimes, the man, leaves the story, but the legend lingers.
Isn’t that just like The Walking Dead? They kill characters, un-kill them, and leave us arguing over coffee. So, next time someone asks you this question, just say: “He died in our hearts, then got a helicopter.” Then laugh, because that’s the only sensible answer.
