Inside “Time & Language,” you’ll see a section that says “Language” or “Preferred languages.” Don’t panic if it’s in Norwegian—just look for the blue button that says “Add a language.” Click it, and a list will pop up. Scroll until you find “English (United States)” or “English (UK).”
Click that language, then hit “Next.” A new window will ask if you want to set it as your display language. Check that box, then hit “Install.” Windows will download the language pack—grab a coffee, it takes two minutes. Pro tip: don’t touch anything while it’s downloading, or you’ll reset the gremlin.
After the install, Windows might ask you to sign out and back in. Do it. When you log in again, everything should magically be in English. If it’s still showing gibberish, go back to the language list, find the foreign language, and delete it (there’s usually a “Remove” button). That forces the system to pick English as the default.
