Dolly Parton was born in a small cabin in Tennessee, the fourth of twelve children - yes, you read that right, twelve! Her family was poor, but her parents encouraged her love of music from a young age. She started performing at local events and on the radio, and the rest, as they say, is history!
As a child, Dolly would often perform for her family, singing and playing the guitar - and she was hooked from the very start. She wrote her first song, "Little Tiny Tassel Top", at the age of eight, and it wasn't long before she was playing on the local radio station. Talk about a prodigy!
