Spiders aren’t plotting against you. They follow food and shelter. If you have crumbs, dead skin, or tiny bugs, you’re running a spider buffet.
They also love dark, quiet places. Your closet, behind the bed, that dusty corner. It’s a five-star hotel for them.
Fun fact: spiders don’t like lemon, peppermint, or vinegar. Their little feet hate strong smells. Use that.
Your First Weapon: Clean Like a Boss
Vacuum everything. Corners, under the bed, behind the dresser. Spiders hate a tidy room—it messes with their web plans.
Dust your baseboards. Spiders build webs where dust collects. No dust, no web. Simple.
Don’t leave clothes on the floor. A shirt pile is a spider’s dream condo. Pick up your laundry—your future self will thank you.
The Scent Trick
Mix 10 drops of peppermint oil with water in a spray bottle. Spritz around windows, doors, and corners. Spiders smell it and nope out.
Citrus works too. Wipe your window sills with lemon juice. You’ll have a fresh-smelling room and zero eight-legged guests.
Vinegar is another weapon. Spray a 50/50 mix of water and white vinegar. It stinks, but spiders hate it even more than you do.
Seal the Fortress
Spiders squeeze through tiny cracks. Check your window frames, door gaps, and baseboards. Use caulk or weather stripping.
They come in through vents, too. Buy mesh screens for your vents. It’s a cheap fix that stops a lot of leggy intruders.
Don’t forget pipes and cables. Spiders crawl through holes where wires enter your room. Seal them with steel wool or foam.
