Some gas fireplaces can be real gas guzzlers, using up to 40,000 BTUs per hour! That's like leaving your car idling for hours, just burning through gas like there's no tomorrow. But don't worry, most modern fireplaces are designed to be more energy-efficient.
On the other hand, some fireplaces are super eco-friendly, using as little as 5,000 BTUs per hour. That's like having a tiny tea light that just sips on gas, making it a more cost-effective option.
