Skeletor’s minions are a glorious mess. There’s Beast Man, a hairy guy with a whip who can control animals—except he usually just chases butterflies. Then there’s Mer-Man, who’s a fish-man that lives in a world with very little water. Good planning, buddy.

My personal favorite is Trap Jaw. He’s a cyborg with a detachable jaw that can swap between a hook, a laser, or a grappling claw. He’s like a Swiss Army Knife of violence, but he still gets his butt kicked every single episode. And then there’s Evil-Lyn, the only smart villain who actually almost wins sometimes, except she’s stuck working for a boneless skeleton.
Surprising fact: In the original toy line, He-Man was actually a barbarian named “He-Man” from the start. The whole “Prince Adam” secret identity was added later for the cartoon because censors thought it was too violent to have a barbarian flying around the universe. So they gave him a whiny alter ego to seem more relatable. Genius.
