Why? No clue. Maybe it’s the proximity to pork roll? Or maybe New Jersey just knows a good sandwich when it sees one. Either way, grab one on the way to the Shore.
New York is a bit stingier. Manhattan has a couple, but good luck finding a seat. Bring your patience and a small appetite.
Washington & The Pacific Northwest
Out in the Pacific Northwest, the Habit is carving a path. Seattle has a few, but they’re always tucked into weird strip malls. It’s like a treasure hunt.
Habit - Azusa - Charburgers - Salads - Sandwiches - Habit Burger Grill
Portland? Yep. They have them. And they’ll serve you a Tempura Green Bean side because it’s Portland. Obviously.
But here’s the thing: they’re never in the downtown core. You have to drive. And then you feel like you earned that burger. Work for it, champ.
