But, which categories got the axe, you ask? Well, it's a mix of technical awards and some special awards that will now be presented at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. This means that categories like Outstanding Sound Editing and Outstanding Special Visual Effects will no longer be part of the main event.
Now, I know what you're thinking, "What about the Outstanding Stunt Coordination award?" Don't worry, it's still in the running, but it's been moved to the Creative Arts Emmy Awards as well. And, let's be real, who doesn't love a good stunt? I mean, it's not like the Emmys are trying to be boring or anything.
The Reason Behind the Cut
So, why the cut, you ask? Well, according to the Television Academy, it's all about streamlining the show and making it more viewer-friendly. They want to make sure that the ceremony doesn't go on for too long and that viewers stay engaged. And, let's be honest, who doesn't love a good three-hour ceremony? Just kidding, it's way too long.
But, in all seriousness, the Television Academy is trying to make the Emmys more appealing to a wider audience. They want to focus on the big awards and the main categories that people actually care about. And, who knows, maybe they'll even add some new categories to spice things up. Like, Outstanding Use of Memes in a TV Show or Best Use of Social Media to Promote a Series.
