Newton didn’t stop there. Oh no. He gave us the three laws of motion, which are basically the rules of the universe written in plain English. First law: an object at rest stays at rest unless something pushes it. Lazy couch potato? That’s physics, not personality.
Second law: force equals mass times acceleration. F=ma. This is the one that makes car crashes go vroom and makes you feel heavy on a roller coaster. It’s the equation that explains why you can’t punch your way through a brick wall—sorry, action heroes.
Third law: for every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction. This is why rockets fly, why you get pushed back when you jump off a boat, and why when you slap a friend’s hand, your hand stings too. Fair play, Newton. Fair play.
