Now, if you’re reading this between February and April, the answer changes. Championship season is chaos.
In the regular season, games are predictable. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays. You can set your watch to it.
But in March? The schedule is a hostage situation. You don’t know when they play until about 48 hours before. The NCAA releases times like they’re government secrets. It’s maddening.
How to watch UConn women's basketball at Xavier: Time, TV
If it’s tournament time, just assume they do play today. They’re the defending champs (probably). They don’t take days off in March. They eat, sleep, and breathe basketball.
The Golden Rule of “Does UConn Play Today?”
Here’s the cheat code: Follow the team’s social media. I’m serious. The official Twitter account (or X, or whatever we call it now) will post a graphic at 8 AM that looks like a concert poster.
It’ll say something dramatic like “GAME DAY 🔵⚪” and you’ll feel a little shiver of joy. That’s how you know. Screenshots, people. Screenshots are your friend.
Also, never trust the calendar on your phone. I put a game in for last Tuesday. It turned out to be a practice. I showed up to an empty arena. Don’t be me.
So, what’s the verdict? Are you going to watch UConn women’s basketball today? Or are you going to sit on your couch staring at a blank TV screen like a sad potato?
Check the schedule. Right now. I’ll wait.
Did you see it? Is there a game? If yes, congratulations! You’ve got plans. If no, take a deep breath.
Remember, they’ll play again tomorrow. Or the day after. Basically all the time. Geno Auriemma doesn’t believe in “off days.” He believes in film sessions and free throws.
