Now, you might be feeling a little sad. I get it. But here’s the uplifting part: we’re trying again.
Companies like Boom Supersonic and NASA are designing new jets that will be even faster, quieter, and—fingers crossed—more affordable.
Concorde Supersonic Travel from New York to London in Just 3 Hours
These new planes aim to fly at Mach 1.7, using sustainable fuel, with engines that won’t wake up every granny in South London. The goal is to make supersonic travel available to regular humans, not just rock stars and hedge fund managers.
Imagine it: a New York–London flight in three and a half hours, at a price closer to a business class ticket. You could pop over for a weekend to see a show, grab fish and chips, and be back in time for Monday morning coffee. That’s a life upgrade.
So, Will You Ever Fly Supersonic?
Honestly? Yes. The technology is already being tested. By the late 2020s or early 2030s, the next generation of supersonic jets will be rolling off assembly lines.
And when you finally step onto that plane—lean, quiet, and sleek—you’ll feel the same giddy thrill that those lucky passengers felt on the old Concorde. The roar of the engines, the gentle push into your seat, the knowledge that you’re flying faster than a bullet.
That feeling? It’s not about speed. It’s about possibility. It’s about shrinking a big, scary world into a small, friendly neighborhood.
So here’s to the Concorde—the impossible dream that was real, the plane that broke the sky, and the reason you can still dream of making New Your and London feel like they’re right next door.
And the next time you groan during a seven-hour flight? Just smile. Remember that once upon a time, we did it in three. And we’ll do it again. Faster, greener, and with better snacks.
Now, go pack a bag. The future’s coming—and it’s supersonic. 🚀
