Still hungry? Check out Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin, which mixes witches, witch hunters, and a forced marriage that goes spectacularly wrong. It’s like if Beauty and the Beast was written by someone who really liked sarcasm and fire spells. Also, Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco offers a Sicilian-inspired underworld with two princes of hell who are every bit as annoying and irresistible as Tamlin—but with better Italian accents.
Fun fact: Sarah J. Maas herself has name-dropped The Queen of Nothing and Uprooted by Naomi Novik as inspirations. So if you want to read what shaped her, dive into those. You’ll spot the echoes of dark forests and hidden magic on every page.
