First, check your water pressure. Most RO systems need at least 40 PSI to work properly. If your water dribbles out like a sad fountain, you might need a booster pump.
Second, think about waste water. Old-school RO systems waste a lot of H2O—like 3 gallons for every 1 gallon of clean water. Newer models are much better, so go for high-efficiency options.
Third, don’t forget maintenance. Those filters won’t change themselves (unless you have a robot, in which case, hi, Elon). Plan to swap them every 6-12 months.
