You might come in for groceries, but you’ll almost certainly leave with something else. The George clothing section is sneaky good. I’ve found a perfectly decent pair of jeans there for less than the price of a takeaway coffee. It’s a win-win.
The homeware aisles are dangerously tempting. You go in for a loaf of bread and come out with a new cushion and a spatula you didn’t know you needed. It’s the Asda way. You’ll thank yourself later when you’re making pancakes with that shiny new spatula.

Why You Should Actually Care
Look, it’s a supermarket. I get it. But this one on Ormskirk Road is more than just a place to buy tinned tomatoes. It’s a reliable, no-nonsense spot that doesn’t try to be fancy. It just works. It’s got the basics, the treats, and the stuff you didn’t know you wanted.
When life is busy, and your brain is full of work emails and school runs, having a good supermarket makes the admin of life easier. You can get in, get what you need, and get out without losing your will to live. That’s a win in my book.
It’s also open until late, which is a lifesaver when you suddenly remember you need cat food at 9:45 pm. The lights are on, the shelves are stocked, and they don’t judge you for buying a whole birthday cake just for yourself. I won’t tell if you don’t.
