So, are any shops open on Easter Sunday? The answer is a classic “it depends.” It depends on your location, your desperation, and your willingness to accept a candy bar shaped like an egg as a meal.
Pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens are usually open, but they operate on a “skeleton crew.” That means one teenager is running the entire store while listening to headphones. Be nice to them. They do not want to be there either.

Starbucks is a coin flip. Some locations are open, some are closed. It’s a psychological test. You will drive to one, find it dark, and curse the corporate overlords. Then you’ll drive two miles to another one, and it’s full of people wearing pastel sweaters. It’s retail roulette.
The Golden Rule of Easter
Here is the only rule you need: Assume nothing is open, but be ready for anything. Keep a backup stash of chocolate in your car. Have a twenty-dollar bill hidden in your glovebox. And for the love of all that is holy, check Google Maps before you leave the house.
If you do find an open store, treat it like a miracle. Walk in with gratitude. The staff is working on a holiday. They are the unsung heroes of your egg hunt. Buy an extra loaf of bread you don’t need. Tip the cashier. You are all in this together.
And if you end up at home with nothing but a half-empty bag of trail mix and a diet soda? That’s okay. That’s a real Easter. Just remember: next year, you’ll buy the vinegar on Saturday. You won’t. But it’s nice to pretend.
Happy hunting. May your jellybeans be fresh and your gas station sushi be edible. Good luck.
