The ancient Egyptians were pretty advanced, and their engineering skills were on point, even by today's standards. I mean, can you think of any other civilization that built something as massive as the Great Pyramid of Giza, which is estimated to have taken around 20 years to build? That's like, building a massive skyscraper, but with blocks of stone that weigh as much as a small car!
The pyramids were built as tombs for the pharaohs, who were believed to become gods in the afterlife. The Egyptians thought that the pyramids would provide a means for the pharaohs to ascend to the afterlife, and they were often filled with treasure and other goodies to help them on their journey. It's like, can you imagine being buried with all your favorite things, like a giant treasure chest, but instead of gold and jewels, it's filled with ancient artifacts and mysterious scrolls!
