The first Cubans arrived in the US back in the 1800s, but it wasn't until the Cuban Revolution in 1959 that a large wave of immigrants came to America. Many of these early immigrants were wealthy businessmen and politicians who fled the island to escape the communist regime. Today, their descendants are making a name for themselves in all sorts of fields, from politics to entertainment.
One of the most interesting things about the Cuban population in the US is their diversity. While many Cubans are white, there are also significant numbers of black and mixed-race Cubans. This diversity is reflected in the vibrant arts and culture scene, with Cuban music, dance, and visual arts being just a few examples of the many talents on display.
