Look closely at the bottom left corner of the digital map. See that little grey patch labelled “Nature Trail”? Go there. It’s not on the paper map at all, and it’s the only place where you can escape the sound of kids playing “Kiss Chasey” near the swimming pool. The trail leads to a tiny viewing platform over the lake—perfect for a sunrise coffee if you can dodge the geese. Also, the map won’t tell you that the Boulder Club has a secret side door that leads directly to the fish and chip shop. That’s not official knowledge; that’s experience.
What About the Swimming Pool and the “Shortcut”
The map shows one big pool and one outdoor splash area. But here’s the irony: the indoor pool is actually closer to the “Sunrise” lodges than the outdoor one is. Don’t follow the map’s blue dotted path—walk between Lodges 12 and 13, cut through the hedge, and you’ll save five minutes. I discovered this because I got lost and nearly walked into someone’s patio. You’re welcome.
Oh, and the map marks the amusement arcade with a little rocket ship icon. Cute, right? But it doesn’t show you that the best machines (the ones that actually pay out tickets) are tucked behind the photo booth near the fire exit. That’s a pro-level tip from a parent who spent £20 on a claw machine that stole all my hope.
