The White Witch—Jadis to her friends (she has none)—is a total monster. She’s tall, pale, and has a temper that makes a volcano look chill. She turns people to stone for fun. And her idea of hospitality is giving a starving boy poisoned candy and then threatening to kill him. Rude.
But you have to admire her commitment to winter. She keeps Narnia in a permanent snow globe. No spring, no Christmas, just endless cold. She’s like that neighbor who refuses to take down holiday lights until March.

The Sidekicks You’ll Adore
Mr. Tumnus is a faun with a scarf and an umbrella. He’s the first friend Lucy makes, and he’s adorably bad at being evil. He was supposed to kidnap Lucy for the witch, but instead he cried and offered her tea. We stan a soft criminal.
The Beavers are basically the grandparents you wish you had. Mr. Beaver is grumpy but wise; Mrs. Beaver is domestic and fierce. They feed the kids, sew them clothes, and give them life advice. And they can talk. Imagine your pet suddenly speaking up about geopolitics.
